- Accumulator
- Accumulator: a single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, and the odds multiply together.
- Asian Handicap
- Asian Handicap: a split handicap that gives a half‑goal or quarter‑goal advantage to the underdog, reducing the chance of a draw.
- Bankroll Management
- Bankroll Management: the practice of setting aside a budget for betting and deciding how much to wager on each bet to avoid losing too much.
- Bet Slip
- Bet Slip: a digital record that lists the selections you want to bet on, the odds, and the total stake.
- Bookmaker
- Bookmaker: a company or person that sets odds and accepts bets on sports events.
- Both Teams To Score (BTTS)
- Both Teams To Score (BTTS): a bet that chooses whether both sides will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- Cash Out: a feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss based on the current odds.
- Double Chance
- Double Chance: a bet that covers two of the three possible match outcomes (win/draw, draw/win, etc.) in a single wager.
- Draw No Bet
- Draw No Bet: a bet that removes the draw option, so you win if your chosen team wins and get your stake back if the match ends in a draw.
- Edge
- Edge: an advantage a bettor believes they have over the bookmaker's odds, often based on analysis or inside information.
- In-Play
- In-Play: another name for live betting, referring to wagers made after the match has started.
- Juice
- Juice: the commission or fee that a bookmaker adds to the odds, usually reflected in the spread or line.
- Line Movement
- Line Movement: the change in odds or point spread over time as more bets are placed or new information becomes available.
- Live Betting
- Live Betting: placing bets on events while the match is in progress, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Moneyline
- Moneyline: a bet on which team will win the match, with odds that reflect each team's chance of winning.
- Odds
- Odds: numbers that show how likely an outcome is and how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- Over/Under: a bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a number set by the bookmaker.
- Parlay
- Parlay: the US term for an accumulator, where you combine two or more bets and all must win to receive a payout.
- Payout
- Payout: the total amount of money you receive when a bet wins, including the original stake plus profit.
- Public Money

- Spread
